Question makita charger

I have 2 of the makita cordless tool chargers that are multi volt ( 7.2/9.6/12/14.2 ) .
the 7.2 volt batteries i use have lasted 8 or more years.
both the 9.6 & the 14.4 only last a year or so.

I was wondering if any one else has had this problem? /

can it be tested to see if the multi volt charger is 'actually' charging the 9 & 14 v batteries??

thanks-mike

Thumbs up

'I' think i have solved my problem!
after some 'googling'-I found that 'do not leave charger pluged in ' if not in use!!
I had 2 chargers on a timmer for 1 hr a day- they did not always have a battery in them.
from what I gather-that damaged the chargers!
