Need Advice: air compressor purchase

Ok, well I got lots of great advice for my purchase of nailers which I have now made based on the input in these forums thank you very much.

Now it's time to get a compressor. As of this time, I only plan to use the compressor with an 18ga nailer, 15ga nailer and possibly in the future a framing nailer.

Size, price, and CFM are of the essence. Basically I need something to run those tools flawlessly and nothing more.

Thoughts?

2 gallon has sufficient volume for nailers. Oil less compressors are noisy, but recover quickly. Oil type take....well....oil and you need to check it regularly. You can buy a 2 gallon pancake and use it for a long time before you would have to upgrade. Buying a big compressor without the need for "large" would be a waste of money. I have big compressor in shop, double hotdog Ridgid on the jobsite trailer, and kept my first pancake for a "spare" in case one of the others has a problem. No air....no work, so that is important.

Thanks Chandler! 2 gallon it is then. I was shopping google and found all sorts of compressors in an attractive price bracket but was unsure of the size.

Thanks again!

Can't go wrong with the price, nor the quality. It should last you until you decide to graduate woodworking 101 JK You can always sell it if you decide to get a bigger one later on.

Yeah, nail guns don't take a lot of air, you can get by with a pretty small one for that
