Compressor advice for trim nailers

Hey guys, I will be doing a trim project here soon and I'm thinking of getting a couple air nailers for the job. I'm looking at the Hitachi NT65MA4 15Ga Finish and Hitachi NT50AE2 18Ga Brad, both around $210 at Amazon.

I have a Craftsman 3 gallon compressor, but I came across a Hitachi kit with the 2 nailers above and a 6 gallon pancake compressor, hose and nails at Lowes for $279 +tax.

Should I stick with the little Craftsman I have or would I be better served with the larger capacity of the Hitachi for not too much more $?

How old is the Craftsman? I'd go with the new stuff and sell the Craftsman to offset the initial outlay for the Hitachi kit. Pawn shops buy stuff like that all the time, because they can turn them fast. I am assuming the 6 gallon has wheels.

Thanks Chandler. The Craftsman is a few years old, but very little heavy use. The Hitachi is the pancake type similar to the red Porter Cable kind, no wheels.

Here is a link:

Here is the compressor I currently have:

One downside....you'll be trading an oil type compressor for an oil-less type. Oil-less are quite a bit noiser. Why not take that into consideration, as I'd hate to steer you to something you may not be happy with later. We make the subs who have oil-less compressors put them outside and add hose as we can't stand the noise for an all day job.

Nail guns don't take a lot of air, I have a small Bostich I use if I need to take air to the job

The one thing I look out for is where the compressor cycles - had one which cycled at 80 psi (and was not adjustable) and would leave nails proud in hard wood, since 90 psi is about the pressure you need for that
