Table Saw Blade Adjustment
Hi:
I was wondering if anyone had experience adjusting the blade on a Craftsman model 137.248880 table saw. From what I can tell, instead of trunions you can loosen it has an adjusting mechanism in the front of the saw that has a left and right screw and nut that you're supposed to be able to turn and adjust the blade. Doesn't seem to be having any effect to me. The blade is definitely slightly partial to the right side. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I guess there are adjustments, and I am thinking you are trying to correct bevel. I never trust the marks on the bevel gauge. I use a swanson square to ensure it is perfectly vertical then lock it down. I also use a precision bevel gauge to determine the proper bevel, then lock it down.

Yeah, trying to correct a problem where the blade is slightly off enough to cause tenons to be a little thicker at the bottom than the top. This saw has a pretty cheesy setup for adjustment with this screwbolt arrangement, but then again, it isn't an expensive table saw. I replaced the original bolt with a longer one last night and it seemed to do a better job of straightening things. I'll try your suggestion for determining proper bevel before locking down the other side. Thanks for the input.
