Dust Collection System

I am preparing to setup a new dust collection system (to my new Delta Dust Collector). My question is regarding the best way to CONNECT the Schedule 20 PVC to the plastic blast gates and such. Do folks simply put them on and then seal them with duct tape, or screws and duck tape or ....??? there is a slight gap (maybe 1/32") difference between the diameter of the schedule 20 and the blast gates/connectors, and looking for best/common way to seal that up.

What is the best way???

Are you using the manufacturer's piping or schedule 20 off the rack? How do you plan on addressing static charge build up? Once you determine the proper pipe to install, use pvc primer and glue to fasten the pieces together. They should fit snugly, however, so be sure to check on what the manufacturer recommends.

i am planning on using Schedule 20 pvc pipe & wye's, and standard plastic blast gates.

I am planning on gluing the schedule 20 piping together with pvc glue.

However, I wouldn't think the pvc glue should be used with the plastic blast gates tho ...?????? (if i wasn't clear, that is where i'm unclear....) What is the best/common way to join the plastic blast gates and the pvc???

Table Saw Blade Adjustment

Hi: I was wondering if anyone had experience adjusting the blade on a Craftsman model 137.248880 table saw. From what I can tell, instead of trunions you can loosen it has an adjusting mechanism in the front of the saw that has a left and right screw and nut that you're supposed to be able to turn and adjust the blade. Doesn't seem to be having any effect to me. The blade is definitely slightly partial to the right side. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.Read More

Air Compressor "Hissing"

I have an air compressor Campbell Hausfeld one on wheels that looks like an older model of this. [url]http://www.chpower.com/chimages/ProductLarge/WL6501_large.jpg[/url] I bought it used and used it to attach baseboards in several rooms and occasionally will use it with a palm nailer. Recently I hired a contractor to work on a project and he used my compressor for his work, which I did not object. The only problem was he did not seem to be careful about any tools he touched. One time I saw him not having enough hose length when he moved to the next room, he dragged that heavy compressor over by pulling on the hose. Now that he is gone and I need to use my compressor, I noticed it stays LOUD ALL THE TIME. The air tool still seem to work, but it used to be LOUD for a minute or two, then stay quiet for a while when I work, then it goes LOUD again in cycles. Now it is being LOUD constantly. I checked the hose, and I can hear hissing where the hose is connected to the gauge. The gauge has a female threaded connection. To that I connect several quick release fittings then the hose. The hissing is there and there seem to be air leaking out of there, but I can't tell which one as the fittings are all together. I am guessing his dragging the compressor around by pulling the hose has damaged these fittings, and the air leak around the fittings is causing the compressor to constantly recharge because it could not maintain the pressure? I am going to buy all new fittings and may be the gauge too and see if it solves the problem. But I wanted to check in here first, does it seem plausible the air leak around the quick release fittings being the reason the compressor is constantly charging or there may be other reasons?Read More
