Smile Tecumseh/Karcher Pressure Washer problems.

KArcher Pressure washer
Mod 4000 G
This is a basket case. It's all I ever get it seems.
The Engine turns OK, but when the pump is bolted up tight the engine cant turn easy at all.
I tried to get the pump off the bottom of the engine. It's only gonna come down about .020". I cant get it another little bit.
There must be a secret to getting that pump off. Or..maybe back on correctly?

In this last photo I have the bolts out but the pump wont pull away from the Adapter.
I could use a lot of experience here.
I'd like a manual for this pump as well.

The pump section may need to be dissembled from the other end. The engine crankshaft could have parts on the end holding the pump in place. Clips, bolts or cam. I disassembled one years ago of a different brand and I remember a oil chamber and a cam that operated the pumps tiny pistons.

I finally got the pump seperated from the Engine.
It was just as I suspected. The adaptor had un-screwed a bit.
Thanks a bunch guys.
Now to get it back together. Hope I get some warm weather soon.

I finally had the pump apart, forced some Grease and Oil down into the wobble place area and put it back together.
I got it started. Run's OK, but it's still 35 Degrees out, so I'll wait a day or two to see if it will pump out some hi pressure.
The guy at the local pump place said it's junk, and he's not too complimentary about that Tecumseh engine either.
