Yes, it's a Homelite

It's a power washer about six months old and it's been working well up until last week. The motor shuts down after about 30 seconds of operation and the water pressure in the wand is enormous - even for a pressure washer. The pressure is so great that it feels like a vapor lock and I can't squeeze the wand handle. I have to take the garden hose off the water source, then slowly take the garden hose off the pressure washer; then when I squeeze the handle on the sprayer wand, water explodes out of the nozzle. I've cleaned out the hose and wand, changed the oil & added new gas but the problem still exists. Any suggestions?

Look on the end of the pump and see if there's a brass cap looking thing. Remove the cap and loosen the nut thats locking a threaded shaft with a screwdriver slot in it. Back the screw out about 1/2 a turn and try that.
