air compressor not building pressure

I have a Craftsman Portable comp. 125 psi max when I turn the unit on it will start and run but the pressure on the gauge never gets above 25PSI and the compressor will run forever if I let it.
I have seen this question online, but no solutions. Thanks.

Welcome to our forums!

There are a few possibilities but we would need to know exactly what type of air compressor you have.

Is it an oil-less, oil type direct drive or oil type belt drive.
The exact model and a link to what you have would help.

What other symptoms are you seeing?

No other symptons. I made sure it was plugged directly to the wall and not an extension cord. It worked all winter as I was a nail gun to put up tongue and groove ceiling. Put it away and then went to use it and it wont go over 25PSI.

I have the same problem

My Craftsman compressor is model #919.155611 It's a 1.5 HP 12 gal permanently lubricated Fusetron.
I noticed air leaking out of the flow valve, so I replaced it. Nothing changed.
The compressor starts up fine and sounds normal, but stops building around 20 PSI.
It worked fine last week.
