Question Where is the cheapest place to buy Power Tools

I am looking to start a renovation project, and thought I might do a little research first about the best place to buy tools. Does anyone have any recommendations about where the best place to buy is?

I prefer DeWalt tools but price sells.

Welcome to the forums! Yardsales, estate sales, individuals selling tools, pawn shops. Probably in that order.

Cheapest place to buy new tools is generally Harbor Freight Tools. Best place to buy used tools is generally a pawn shop. Remember, you get what you pay for in most cases. If you need a tool that you will only use once or twice then Harbor Freight is probably sufficient but if you want a tool that will last go for the big name, even if it is used.

I've had good luck with HF tools BUT you really need to know what you are buying and if it's suitable for what you need. Some of their tools are of good quality but not all of them! Another good place to get tools is at a refurbished outlet. They sell tools that have come back under warranty and were repaired. They usually have the same warranty as the brand new tool will have.
