1/3 sheet vibrating sander loose pad

Hello,
The pad that goes between metal of sander and the sand paper has separated from sander. Perhaps the heat generated during operation got rid of the glue that held the pad in place. Is there some special glue that would survive the heat and keep the pad glued to the sander?
Thanks for your suggestions.

I have always replaced the plate when that happens. Find a parts schematic for your sander online and see what the part costs, and if it's feasible to get a replacement.

replace plate

Hello,
When I look at a diagram for the Black & Decker 7448 (turns out there are several models of the 7448 and no explanation how to discover the differences!) there is a Base Plate and a Pad. What they are calling the pad needs to be attached by screws so I am assuming that is what I need. However, I can not tell if the 'felt' pad is attached to their Pad. Fun.
I appreciate the suggestion though.

I'm pretty sure it is. Any time I have ever had to replace a pad, either 1/4 sheet or 5" orbital, the backing always comes on the pad.

Your model # doesn't say Type 1 or Type 2? etc?

From what I can see, you might have trouble getting parts... some parts are discontinued. I did find this... note what it says about the part #'s it replaces and compare your part #'s.
