Jigsaw Stopped in Mid-Work - What Went Wrong?
Hi,
Was working doing some DIY project cutting down some planks and in mid-job my jigsaw just started stalling a few times then just downright quit. There don't seem to be any reset buttons. I can't see any sawdust in there - the machine is pretty new - barely used if at all. It's a Hyundai - FWIW. Any ideas on what went wrong and if it's worth fixing?
Thanks!

OK - so I brought it in to the repair guy - he said it was bone dry inside - that it hadn't been greased like forever (?) and it was very clogged up. So - yeah. Next time I'll keep my machine better maintained.

Welcome to the forums! I don't understand. Between 2:30 and 4:30 this morning you took it to a repair guy who told you it needed greasing?
Jig saws don't use replaceable grease. It is sealed in the movement. Interesting post.

Yeah - first I posted, called the company and asked them what to do - they gave me the name of a local guy who could possibly repair it on the spot - cause I needed to finish my project. Brought it to him and that's what he said was the problem - that and a faulty cable - (forgot to also mention that). I guess this is what he did - or along these lines - Jigsaw Servicing, A How To Guide Life is interesting

My first thought was electrical, like a bad cord, plug or trigger. I never heard of anyone greasing or oiling a modern day electric tool. Sounds like a faulty cable/cord was the issue.
