I am building a large deck (860 ft)and am thinking of using an air nailer. I know not the best way but would save time. OK or bad idea?

I will soon need to roof as well, and wondering if there are guns which can go from 1 1/2 to 3 1/2, use ring shank round heads, and use roofing nails.

Thanks, Nick

Not that I know of. Rent the tools. It's cheaper.

Use screws in the decking. It may cost time now, but later you will see why.

Do not nail your deck, big mistake. If you do, remember a year from now we told you not to. The nailers you are talking about are three separate nailers. Roofing nailer,
framing nailer 2 1/4-3 1/2, and regular nailer 2-21/2. Probably cheaper to rent them. Each nailer will be over $200 each.
