Mostly advertising puffery. Battery operated inflators aren't new they just put it in a case that looks like an electric drill and used a lot smaller battery then is usually used. I'd go for an AC or one that plugs into a cigarette light before I'd by that.

I would agree on the puffery. I wouldn't consider $75 a bargain for that.

I concur; not worth taking home, even at half the price. Maybe 10 years or so ago, I received what I refer to as a "chuffer" for a gift, one that plugs into a cigarette lighter, and it actually baled me out with a low tire on a trailer one time, so I keep it under the seat in the truck, but it is as slow as I would want to go. It takes a certain amount of energy in to get a certain amount out, and I can't see something like that coming anywhere near what I would consider acceptable.

I tend to agree with the others. But today's technology might prove us wrong. It would interesting to some real life test and not an advertisement.

Just use google to look for reviews. (don't post any here) They are there. They are not great.
It seems the price has gone up since the reviews were written too.

One was priceless...... if you have all day to fill up a car tire then this unit is for you.

I removed the direct link from the original post. If you want to see it just google it. In fact google cordless inflator just for fun.

It is a battery inflator. I guarantee that it doesn't pump up a tire that fast.

If only there was a search engine the we could type the words "Air Hawk" into to figure out what you are talking about. Anyway I edited your original post.

I deleted it because I didn't want to give that POS any advertisement.

To the OP,

Tolyn's decision to edit your link is a judgement call, and in this case a good one. Sooner or later it will happen to most of us.

Tolyn's decision was the correct one. Advertising is against forum rules and leaving the link amounted to advertising. It wasn't removed till the product had been thoroughly discussed so the original question was answered and people warned about the product.

my opinion as a user it was not the correct thing to do.. This is a forum to talk show what your talking about.. taking away that link described what I was talking about...

So be it I do expect moderators to stick together..

Just saw a TV ad for this late last night. They showed it as seeming to fill flat tires as quick or quicker than a big shop compressor. Of course they had no running clock or a person in the picture, just a hand and the machine. Photoshop or sped up video?

It might be ok for filling balls and beach toys (very low pressure), but it's downright deceitful to infer that it can rapidly fill tires. Nowhere does it say what max pressure or air flow is. That's enough right there not to buy.

As to the removal of the link, it probably should have been done earlier. I'm guessing it was just a link to their "buy it now!" site? Advertising pure and simple. Not necessarily intended that way by fatdaddy, but it is pure advertising by the AH company. Not allowed per site rules. It's happened before and sometimes the poster is somehow connected to the company and banned. Normally a 1 or 2 post wonder. Not the case here.

As the others have mentioned, your link was too close to the manufacture/seller for my comfort. If you had linked to a 3rd party seller not associated with the product, I would have let it slide.

Your picture is fine.

As to the pic, yeah, probably ok, though you would have had to put a name to it so people would know what to search for. Although, I have to say, just looking at it I wouldn't have taken it very seriously. I'm sure there are some Dad's/boyfriends out there that will have one under the tree come Sunday.

That thing was priced at $75?! Wow, they are just praying for a lot of suckers aren't they. For that much I could buy 2 wool cardigan sweaters. Oh, wait, I did! I'll get a lot more use out of them than that junk.

For the record that is not a compressor. For $50 you can get a real compressor at Harbor freight. If you want it for when there is no AC for less you can buy a much better inflator that plugs in to you cars power jack. Not mentioned yet that by the time you need it the battery on that thing will probably be dead.

Looks to me like it's an ideal gift to be bought by a wife without a clue for a husband without a clue
