need high rpm's for buffing but hand drills doesn't do the trick
What I need is a drill with a very high rpm because to shine jewelry I need as many rpm's as I can get. I have a dremel drill and a bigger hand drill but it doesn't have the rpm's that I need. Most jewelers use a table grinder machine with a big buffing wheel on it but I don't have the room for that. Any suggestions of any tool that can give high rpm's.

I would think that a bench mounted or table top polisher would be required.
It must be pretty hard to polish jewelry while holding the polisher.
My first thought was a shoe polishing machine.

Just what kind of RPM do you need? I have a Bosch drill that will do 2,000 but that's about the limit I've ever seen.

A cuttout tool (essentially a jumbo rotary tool) has a 30k rpm and enough torque to handle a small buffing wheel. Most have a 1/4in chuck but if you want something larger you can get an adapter (mine was made to attach a suppressor to a .22 barrel) and attach a 1/2 chuck to that. You'd probably want something to mount it in if you go that route.

I bought a buffer like this from Harbor Freight when it was on sale for about $39.00 and for what it is works exceptionally well.
