Selling table saw: 240 or 120 volts?

I'm going to be selling a table saw and it is currently set up for 240V. Do you think I should rewire it for 120 before advertising it since most people are more likely to use it on 120V?

Are all tap and dies standard sizing?

I was given a bunch of industrial taps and dies, with a small assortment of dies and several handles. Since it was free, I accepted them, but as the assortment is relatively small and jumbled and the source was industrial, I'm wondering if I can source any future bits and pieces I need or if each brand has their own sizing. Not sure of the manufacturer of these but one of the die wrenches is marked "Reishauer" The taps all seem to be way bigger than anything I'd ever use. Is it worth keeping or will I end up spending more trying to make them work in a non-industrial setting? Thanks.Read More

Craftsman orbital sander: disks won't stay on

Five years ago I bought an orbital hand sander and a supply of Porter-Cable and another brand name disks. I haven't used the sander too much, but had to replace its hook-and-loop platen last year. Now I am sanding the old wood away from my 30-year-old outdoor redwood handrails. (What a messy, foul job that is!) I found that after about 5-minutes of sanding using 80 grit paper the disks lose their holding ability and fly off the platen. When I try to reinstall them they just don't stick. I've used 6 or 7 disks to sand off a 12-foot length of redwood on both sides. The last two show no signs of wear on the grit surface. I'm sure they are on tight enough because I press them on using all my thumb strength. Is it common for the disks to lose their holding ability after such a limited time?Read More
