3-D printer useful w/o CAD knowledge?

I love learning new things & creating things. 3-D printers have gotten so cheap that I'm now wanting to tinker with that & see what it can do for me. What's holding me back is I have no experience with CAD & I don't want the steep learning curve in getting up to speed.

Can anything useful be done with a 3-D printer if you DON'T know CAD?

Not really!

The whole purpose of having the 3D printer is to make stuff that you need but to make the part you have to have a CAD model to convert into a file for the printer.

You can download files but that is just krap on the internet to make but chances of that being useful are slim to none!

I have access to both CAD and printers so it comes in very handy especially making little parts where the materials are compatible for the application which get better every year!

I guess this is one "hobby" I'll skip. Several years ago I tinkered a little with CAD but found it too intense for part-time.
