Air compressor nail gun

Hey yall, I have a blue hawk 2 gallon air compressor/nail gun. The small gold knob on the bottom that releases pressure has gotten stuck and when I tried to turn it counter clockwise it snapped off. Looked rusted. I released the pressure after using it the last time so Im not sure how this happend, but Any ideas on how to replace or fix this?

Welcome to the forums!
Are you referring to the petcock on the bottom of the tank or is it part of the regulator?
Pics could be helpful - https://www.doityourself.com/forum/e...-pictures.html

If there is no longer anything to grab you will need to drill it out and tap new threads. Most petcocks are the same size thread.

Start with a small drill bit and oil... drill directly in the center. Once you get a hole made use progressively bigger bits until you get up to the size of your tap.

Before drilling, bleed off the air that is in the tank with a spray nozzle.

If you had enough rust for that to break, I would be concerned enough about rust in the tank itself that I think I would just replace the whole compressor.
