Black & Decker Grasshog 18v String Trimmer NST2018 issue

Have an older (~8 years) Black & Decker Grasshog 18v String Trimmer NST2018. It uses the HPB18 battery. I have bought a few replacement batteries over the years. The other day this stopped working and I thought maybe it was the older batteries so I bought another, charged them all but the unit does not work. I cannot check the batteries on my multimeter as it only goes to 12v.

Just wonder if the unit died and what I may be able to check and maybe repair.

Thoughts?

NEVER MIND... it is fixed...
The string had jammed and that was the issue. Not seen it before and now swapped with new roll it work perfectly.

Remove the battery.
Set your mutimeter to ohms. Use a fairly high scale.
Measure across the contacts on the trimmer.
Push the on/off trigger.
You should then see a resistance.
If not then posibilities are bad on/off switch, bad wire, burned out motor.

That's a strange multimeter. Is it maybe just a battery checker ?
Multimeters usually go up to 250v+
Is there a model number on it ?
