CP air impact wrench not working

I have a CP air impact wrench CP 340 that is not working and releasing air out of the trigger. I plan on taking it apart to see what I can do. Can I use WD 40 to oil this ? I need some recommendations. Thank you

WD40 works well for flushing out the crud that accumulates.

True, but you dont use wd40 for lubrication, if that is what you're asking. Air tool oil is a thin non detergent mineral oil.

aka Central Pneumatic / Harbor Freight

dont get hopes up too high, probably an internal seizure, not like it was a quality piece to start with

Meh, I've found HF to be more "Kalashnikov" design specs-
If it it stops working, whack it with your hand a few times to loosen - something... .
If that doesn't work, take it apart, put it back together again, oil it, and it usually works.

I bought a low torque HF impact 35+ yrs ago. I bought it because it was only $20 and at that time I didn't know anything about impacts other than I wanted one. I keep telling myself the next one will have more torque ..... but mine refuses to die.
