I've been plagued by the 'replacement' screwdriver set most of my adult life. You go out and buy some cheap or middle of the road china made screwdrivers. Inevitably, half the set ends up lost or buried somewhere and you're left with only the little useless knubby Frodo-like screwdrivers (which I now have a small army of - take THAT Sauron!). I'm looking for recommendations on a set of screwdrivers that I'll use for the next 50 years. That will laugh at the various ways they're abused - from over torquing screws day-in and day-out to rock chisel to bank safe pry bar. At the same time, I'm looking for good ergonomics and something that fits my hands well (they're rather large just in case any of the ladies that might wondering ;) - ok, well, I wear an XL glove so slightly above average?). Is there a screwdriver set out there that combines the ruggedness to say work on your weekend project tank with the versatility to work on more delicate projects like electronics/electrical outlets? Having some trouble finding a 3 wire on/off momentary switch. Off position-no continuity between any combination of terminals, On position-continuity between all 3. Thanks for any help, insight, and opinions. Back story. Was given a drill press(hf). Had a weak motor and i didn't care for the speed control managed by the belt positions. I occasionally haul scrap and was offered 2 treadmills so i grabbed them and decide to keep the internals while i was separating the materials. Replaced the motor with one from the treadmill, mounted the circuit board, all together and working. Problem is the control panel is pretty large. Maybe 1'x1'. To big to mount anywhere and leaving lay is a good way to end up ripping itoff and breaking it. I only really want the use of 6 "buttons". The buttons are actually a double/triple layer of playoff with the circuitry on the plastic. Press a button, the 2 outter layers touch. The chip recognizes the 3 leads that were connected and does whatever action it should. One side of the plastic will have a single circuit(not sure if the correct term) in a football grid pattern, while the other side has 2 circuits off connected "T"s left to right, one of which is inverted, meshed together like teeth on gears but not touching obviously. So each command is controlled by the connection of 3 circuits. If i use 2 different momentary switches per command I'm concerned the delay may be an issue. I'd also rather not have 9 buttons when i only need 6. (On, off, speed up, spd dwn, and 2 preset speeds(medium and max)). Thanks for any help, insight, and opinions.
