Grinding tool stop work

My grinding tools stop work. They are (1) Black & Decker Quantum BD5200 random orbit sander (2) Black & Decker Jig Saw (NO 7580, Type 2.). If it is motor problem, just go to buy new one. Is there any easy solve possible cause? Is there fuse box or thermal resistance inside? Thanks

Did they both stop at the same time?
Have you tried them in a known good outlet?
Have you measured their resistance at their plugs when the power button/trigger is activated?

If you have verified it is not an bad outlet problem and no continuity in the motor, I would check the carbon brushes in the motors. These tools have a universal motor.

I had that same exact saber saw from B&D. Beat the hell out of it. Cut in 100's of door and rear deck speakers and a few sunroofs. The brushes finally wore out. Best 19.95 ever spent.
