Wen drill press: clamp all the way tight doesn't stop the table from moving

I bought this Wen drill press and twisted the table clamp as far as I could until it reached the point where it felt like that little handle thingy could break.
Should I use a small cheater bar to crank it tighter? The table still has movement within its holder.

I have a similar Harbor Freight drill press with a similar build quality. In fact, after I first got it I broke the cast iron part that clamps onto the main tube.

Perhaps you could take a piece of shim stock like an aluminum can or soup can and put it into the holder to make up the slop.
