New Tool I gotta have

I saw a tool demonstrated on DIY TV show that I really have a use for. The show dealt with building a log cabin from start to finish. I don't need to build a log cabin I already have one, however I do not have a deck railing on it. On this show DIY showed a tool they used to join natural pieces of trre limbs in order to make a deck railing. It fit in a drill and basically cut a 3/4" round tenon on the end of the small log or limb. I spend alot of time at my cabin on the river in Alaska and am interested in this type of joinery as I have an abundandant supply of raw materials at my disposal. Any tips or info would be appreciated as I am vairly new at this .
