Hammer drill

Has anyone tried out a cordless hammer drill? I am planning to purchase a hammer drill in the near future and wanted to see how the cordless model stacked up against the electric?

I purchased the Dewalt 18 hammer drill in a four kit from ubid a few months ago. The hammer feature works excellent as far as what I use it for which is mainly for tapcons.......The convenience is worth the price.........

Currently own 18v Dewalt

It Works great have drilled up to a 5/8" hole with not to much problem. Make Sure to pick up a better grade bit as those $1.99
are just that 1 time uses.

It all depends what you intend to use the drill for. Go to a search engine such as "Google.com" and type in," hammer drill vs. rotary hammer". if you understand the difference you may be quite surprised. I recently bought a bosch roatry hammer, and have since wondered how i have gone so long without one. My father has the dewalt 18v cordless hammer drill and i would only recommend using it in soft materials. For concrete you need a rotary hammer
