Question Makita Palm Sander

I have a Makita Palm sander that I've had for about 8 years now. I'ts been a great tool. But lately the sand paper has started slipping around on it when I use it. I've tried taking the rubber pad off but after taking all of the screws out of this sander it still didn't want to come apart. It seems like it should be an easy fix, I hate to spend another $50 for a new one if I can fix this one. It still runs nice and quiet. Any suggestions.

DBCoop,
If your pad is hook and loop, you can get a kit for it and epoxy on a new piece of velcro. I believe you have to sand off all the old hooks before you apply the new piece. Yep, that's right, just went down and checked. It's a 5" H & L replacement conversion kit mad by Ali-Gator-Grit. Got it at Lowes a while back.
