Craftsman Rout-a-sign

I have just purchased a Craftsman ROUT-A-SIGN
and have had limited success. The directions leave a lot to be desired. Does anyone out the have this tool and is there a more detailed book available??

Thanks

Well, I went to their website and kinda see how it works. The letters seem to be a little flimsy. I have found that most of the time when I am cutting too much at one time I have problems with the router wanting to jump around. Try and reduce your depth and try again..

You know they have a satisfaction guranteed policy!

Might be time to use it...

If your into routers a really good book that may give you some insight is "The New Router Handbook".
I borrowed it from my dad 6 months ago and can't bring myself to give it back yet!

Good Luck

i guess i thought the setup time was to long,
now i cut out the words of a sign on the band saw
using scrip letters all connected together to form a word,
which make raised letters on a back board. OK good luck

Thanks everyone. I've been using it on scrap and
I'm getting better. It really makes a big difference with a plung router.

Thanks Again

It's a little hard controlling a fixed base router with projects like that, glad your getting better though.

Good luck
