Stuck Drill bit in key less chuck.

Hi

I have a robinson screw driver (hex shape shank) bit stuck in my drill. I removed the chuck but the bit is stuck in the spindel that the chuck mounts on. How can I remove the bit. Please.

Hello: Lionel

The answer may be to put the chuck into a vise vertically and use either a strap wrench or water pump pliers to turn the chuck. Done correctly & carefully, little or no damage will occur to the outer surfaces of the chuck.

Unhappy re drill bit stuck

Thanks to those who have tried to help me . However it seem I can't write this properly. The drill bit is NOT stuck in the chuck. It is stuck in the spindel that the chuck mounts on to.

place bit in vice horizontally, have someone hold drill whilst you tap spindle with hammer and drift.
