only 2 remotes work for craftsman garage door opener
Hi! I wonder if anybody has come across this problem. I have a Craftsman garage door opener. The system came with two remotes. I purchased a 3rd one and all three worked until it came time to change batteries. I have not been able to make 3 work at the same time ever since. Only two of them would work at one time. Any ideas?

I have a similar issue. I have a Craftsmen opener with two remotes and replaced the batteries in both of them. Now, I can only get one to work at a time. Surely, there should be a way to get them both programmed to my door opener again. I program one opener and then the other one won't work anymore. So then I prgram the other one and it becomes the only functioning remote. I have tried unplugging the unit, I took the covers off of everything hoping to find a hidden switch or programming feature and I am still operating on one remote which is quite frustrating. Any ideas?

craftsman/liftmaster openers
if remote has red led lamp open and set switches to the same as on the control panel at the motor unit. if any other color lamp on remote (green) on the control panel their is a program button press and hold appox. 5 seconds then while flashing press remote. then again for each extra remote max. memory is 4 remotes. removes any remotes more than 4 storing the last four. holding the program button for 30 seconds deletes all codes and you can start with new codes.

Seems to be a common problem on Sears openers; been mentioned here before. Mine came with two remotes and a keyless pad. After about a year I could only program two (any combination). Now it will accept only one. Tried resetting it and every possible procedure under the sun to get it to work; no dice. When they go they go.

You could always add an external option, like the Street Smart key FOB. This would connect to the GDO just like your push button. When you press a button on the key chain, it activates a relay (similar to pushing the button) raising or lowering the door. There are many similar products out there. If you want more info, feel free to e-mail or PM.
I use the ITI Quickbridge receiver on my GDO at my apartment, since I also have an ITI Concord system installed, only one remote that way.
