Self activating brinks home system

I have a Brinks home security system. It came with the home I recently purchased. It has been in the house for 3 + years. I would like to use it to self monitor rather than going to Brinks. The previous owner (not occupant) did not have the code and can't get in touch with tenant who may have had this installed. I removed the cover on the keypad and noticed the name Scantronic, 1996 on the board. Is there anyway to get a code for this to make it operational. Right now all it tells me is what zones are open.

Thanks.

Typically, with the Brinks systems, you are better off just replacing the control panel and keypad(s). Sometimes they can be reprogrammed, but it requires a programmer to do this - it can't be done at the keypad.

A good replacement system is the Concord Express - very easy to install, very easy to program. You should be able to use the existing contacts and motions, so your cost for replacement would be very minimal.

Good luck!
