Concord Express Keychain Remote
#1

I have a Concord Express security system by ITI. It was installed about 2 years ago. At that time I had an ITI, two button keychain remote (touchpad), added to the system. I have just purchased two more ITI two button remotes (#60-607-319.5) to add to this system.
My problem is the programing instructions that came with the new remotes do not work with my system. I have checked the ITI and Concord Express web sites to find programing instructions. But no luck. I would call the man who installed the alarm system, but he has diss-appeared! ( ADT. was not much help either).
CAN ANYONE HELP ME????

You may be out of luck on this one - I seriously doubt you had an Alpha keypad installed with the system, probably just the regular Fixed Display keypad (the one with the door on it.) Take a look to make sure, if it has a door, you're out of luck - if not, you may be able to program it.
The Fixed Display keypads are not cabable of any installer programming - only user programming. IOW, there is no possible way to program the keychains in using the Fixed keypad - you have to have an Alpha (unfortunately, these keypads are not cheap - ~$100 or more.) The good news is that the Alpha keypads also work as regular keypads, so it wouldn't be a total loss to upgrade. Then you could also move your other keypad to a bedroom or another location of your choice (of course, this means wiring it too.)
You do have one other, possible, option - downloading the system using ITI's Toolbox software. But, there's some problems with that too - it can be very difficult to work with. Not to mention, ADT may have changed the download code, installer code and dealer code - essentially locking you out of download programming. The installer code is easy - it's probably 6321 (ADT's default.) So, if you just get the keypad, you'll be much better off trying to get into programming. The other problem with downloading is that ITI's software only works with certain modems (usually the older Hayes modems that run around 2400 baud), so it's not just a matter of installing the software on your computer and dialing in to the system. It can get much more complicated.
You may also want to try Tech-Man.com, supposedly they can download panels for about $10-15. If that's the case, they should be able to put the TX ID in the panel for you, and the keychains will work.
Hope this helps, even if it's bad news.
Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
