AT&T Alarm

Hello,
I am trying to utilize my AT&T 8720 system and can't seem to get the keypads to register a status to the control panel. I think all the codes are accurate but when I use the # pad with the code and hit Home /Away ect nothing happens..The Keypads beep when I enter the #'s and shut the door. The control panel sounds an alarm with the # of the exit showing up but I still cannot punch in the #'s and silence it or reset... Any help on why this is? Can I reset the unit...I think the previous owners had it set up with a monitoring company and phone line attached... There is also two wires that are not attached to anything leading out of the control panel attached to screws marked hard wired sensor Not sure what to do with them?? Any advice offered is appreciated
Thanks...HS

Sorry, you aren't being ignored. That's a pretty obscure system to me, and I've got references to a lot of them. I just haven't dug up any usable info.

AT&T Alarm

No Problem...I have been having the same difficulty...I did find an owners manual and it says Security System 8000 but no information as to how to default set it or anything related to codes used ...The 8720 # came from the inside panel of the central controller...If you find anything please send my way...
Thanks for the reply...

I see why these puppies dropped off the map so soon after they were introduced in the late 80's.

It's better than nothing, but only just. I actually found one of the keypads buried in our "in case of desperation" parts closet but the docs were long gone.

Thanks

ThankYou both..Now I realize why I was having such problems especially without much experience in these systems. I will try to configure by following the listing of what you sent Brandon and post my success or not after giving it a try..
Thanks Again...
