DSC PC 1555 Trouble

I purchased a home last year that had a DSC PC 1555 security system installed in it. The problem was that the owner did not know that the code was to arm it. I was able to get a copy of the 1555 installation manual, from which I learned how to default the system and get back to the default codes. I reprogramed the zone definitions and attributes and all went fine except for one zone. My front door is the only zone that uses a wireless transmitter (WLS-907 U 900MHz Slim-line). After reactivating the system I was getting trouble condition 5 (zone fault) and 7 (low device battery) associated with the wireless zone. Also, the zone always said that it was open.

The cover on the wireless transmitter had been damaged and would not close properly. As a result the device was full of dust, etc. I reasoned that the zone fault may be due to the fact that the cover would not close properly or that the device may not work at all. I purchased a new, identical, transmitter off of e-bay. After I installed the new unit with new batteries, I was still getting the same errors, and the zone remained to think the door was open.

Would somebody please help me understand what is going on Do I need to do any special programming since I installed a new wireless device so that the control panel will recognize it??

Thanks

I did set the zone attribute as a wireless zone. I set the zone definition as 01 and the zone attributes the same as default except I turned on attribute 8 to identify it as a wireless zone.

I did not program in the wls serial number. Please explain how to do this.

The system light remains on constantly and when I enter *2 it always displays trouble code 5 associated with zone 7 (front door) and trouble code 7 associated with the same zone.

Thank you so much for your help!

wls wireless S/N

You need a wireless installation manual but I wil try to explaine. I hope you have an LCD keypad. You need to get into programming section 804 and enter the zone number you want to add. The S/N is on the transmitter marked as an esn, enter the digits on the keypad. You can now hit # twice you should still have a program light if not go into prograsmming again and enter section 904 and enter the zone number. now go to the transmitter and take off the cover or if it is still off push the tamper switch a small spring loaded button. the panel should cause the siren to squack 1 time is good twice is ok 3 times and you need to relocate something to make work better. I hope this helps.

I am glad it worked out check out the site here for a manual for wireless. you might try the dsc site as well. wireless stuff works well but it has some quirks that if you are going to main tain your system you should know.
