WIRELESS Security Door and Intercom for apartments
Help! We are trying to install a security door into our block of apartments (only 12 units), but its an old building so the wiring will be expensive.
Is there some sort of wireless system with door and intercom that someone knows about which will make the installation much easier?

There are any number of good wireless intercom products, and a fair selection of wireless access control options, but there are no combo units, that I can spot with a quick search. There are a couple that simply use telephone touchtone, but there's not guarentee that all residents will have a land line, and I'm not sure if they will work with cell generated tones.

They aren't the only source, but they are a pretty good starting poing for getting an idea of what's available in the mainstream.
Probably you will need a wireless intercom, and a wireless receiver/relay with 12 remotes to trip the door latch release.
