Trouble light on DSC PC5508Z
#1

I have been in my home for 5 years. Whenever the trouble light came on, I knew immediately that the transformer had came out of the socket (which is in my 7 year olds' room). Normally, I would just re-install whichever wire had come out of one of the prongs (it has two) and the trouble light would go off. Unfortunately, it did not work this time and eventually all lights on the keypad went out. The socket is operable.
What could be the problem? Do I need another transformer? Would any transformer do or would I have to have the DSC? If so, where can I get one from? The company that installed it is no longer in business and I have not a clue.

If the transformer has indeed failed, any 16vac plug-in transformer will replace it. It is possible that a fuse blew on the main panel as well. If the system is powerless too long, there's a chance that the backup battery will not recharge, and will need replacement.
