DSC PC1565 as an in house system
I have a DSC PC1565 alarm.
Monitoring has ceased and the phone socket has been removed from unit to stop further transmissions.
As such, the unit shows the trouble light and also did a timer test call in the early hours of the morning, as the keypad (PC5508Z LED) went into beep mode. The lights indicate both phone and failure to communicate with central station.
Is there any way around this, or a reset code, or ?, so as to use the alarm as an in house system. It is monitoring 3 rooms, tamper and a smoke detector.
I read that you can get a cell phone with SMS messaging to receive alarm messages - can you tell how to program these fields, if that is so.
I am new here, have tried many posts for an answer...
Most impressed with the site !!!
Thanks in advance. Hopefully will be able to return the favour sometime.

I believe the PC1565 is similar to the PC1555 - but I'm not positive about that (I think it's an export version.) So, that being the case, you need to disable (or change) the call-out number and account number. To do this, you have to get into installer programming (sometimes, not an easy task.)
I highly recommend you get an installer manual to help you with this. If the code is not default, you will probably have to default the system - which means you will also have to reprogram it. All of this is explained in the installer manual.
From there, if you have any questions, we'll be more than happy to help. And, yes, you should be able to setup the system to call your cell phone with a page.
Good luck!

Thankyou... I have found install manuals for PC1550 and PC1575. Will either of those do. It looks like the 1550 manual as a guess is the way to go from what I have read so far ?
The alarm is in Australia, and the default install code to suit this is 5555.
I have tried a few codes from your posts, without success, so thought I would post the one that worked, for anyone else in need. A free manual download for the pc1550 on www.avss.net (thanks to a link from a previous post)
Thanks again for your time... it is appreciated
