open ckt displayed

i have an ademco alarm and a 6139 keypad which is displaying OPEN CKT and none of the keys do anything could some please advise on what to do to rectify this

It means that the keypad cannot talk to the control. One or more of the wires either at the back of the keypad, or at the panel terminals is not connected. The worst case is the wire being damaged somewhere inbetween. Has any work been done on the system or the house? I've seen this happen from someone stepping through an attic and snagging the cable with their shoe (and then there's _squirrels_....)

try switching the green and yellow Key pad wires on the control.make sure the kp is wired corectly red blk grn yel.

Also make sure it is addressed correctly for your panel. 31 for most panels. If it is a p series(2op,15p) etc it depends on how many keypads you have and you have to enable individually in system programming then address at each keypad

Wireless device problem..

Hi Everyone, I have installed my pc1555mx and 5132 v3.1 wireless receiver. Everything is working fine, except I can't get the sensors to work. I am getting trouble code 5 on all 3 wireless zones. I have enrolled all of them and have all the programming set properly, but when I try the installer test there's nothing. I changed the batteries, and even put the one sensor right next to the receiver, to make sure it wasn't interference. I have to be missing something in the programming....I have section 13-1 turned on since I have a hard wired motion with no resistor.....would that effect it at all?

Can wireless systems be jammed?

I had pretty much settled on an ITI/GE Concord Ultra system with wireless sensors for our new home. I do have one concern that I've not yet found answer to... are these systems succeptable to jamming? If not, why not (configuration, etc)? Clarfication - obviously they *can* be jammed... but can the system detect this and activate an alarm (for example). Thanks.
