Safewatch Custom RF
#1

Our house has a Safewatch Custom RF, we have no manuals, no codes - nothing! We've had ADT out to re-set the system, they say they can't because their installer code will not work - any suggestions? I've been told it's because the system, although an excellent set up, glass breaks etc, is old (1993) no one supports it anymore - we need help. We don't want to have to replace the entire system.

The "Custom RF" is a modified ITI SX-V system. You can try searching for manuals using that name. If you get really stuck, let us know, and someone may have a copy of the manual in a filing cabinet somewhere.
On the plus side, if you must replace the base system. Many of your transmitters may be compatible with current ITI hardware.

modified ITI SX-V system installer manual
Hi,
I am wondering whether you found the installer manual or not. I have the same system and need to reprogram because I accidentally reset the memory in the main panel.
If you found one, could you please let me know where you can find it or email me a copy of the installer manual. Thank you very much.
Thanks,
Patrick

Try this site, or these guys. These were just the first couple that popped up. This was a fairly common panel, at one time, so there's plenty of info.
A good search phrase is "Installer manual ITI SX-V"

Not to be crude, but if it's not configured in a way that you can work with, then you may be stuck. I know that the handheld programmer is needed to initially set up the keypads and some of the transmitters. I'm not certain just how much program alteration you can do without it.
The door and window contact transmitters are still used by ITI and Caddx/Networx wireless recievers. None of the others is compatible as far as I can tell (possibly the smoke detectors). Should you have to upgrade, then it's not as bad, because so long as they aren't damaged, a fresh set of batteries can get you up and running. The transmitters are the expensive part of the system, especially if there are a lot of them.

Thank you for your quick reply.
So the story was I pressed the memory clear button in the CPU panel accidentally when I tried to replace the rechargable battery. The CPU module cannot recongize my access code from keypad or wireless pad.
I should able to follow the installation manual to reprogram the system and reprogram the code again. Am I correct?
Another question I have is I saw in some forums that we need to use the ADT default key to start. Any idea? And do you know what is the ADT default code?
Thanks!

If you cleared the memory, then without the handheld programmer, the panel doesn't even recognize the keypads. It takes the programmer to do the initial hardware setup when starting from scratch.
ADT's traditional installer code is fairly easy to obtain, for what it's worth.
