Programming an ADT Safewatch Pro 3000
I have an ADT Safewatch Pro 3000 alarm which I have gathered from these forums is an Ademco Vista 20P series alarm. I was able to download the installers manual and have read several threads about retreiving the installer code on ADT alarms. The question I have is while reviewing the installation manual, it states "You must have a 2-line Alpha display keypad".
My keypad has 2 digit display (to display faults and open circuits). Everything else has it's own place on the display and is either on or off (Away, Stay, NO AC, etc).
Is this a 2-line Alpha display or is it not possible to reprogram the system with the keypad I have?
Thanks in advance for the help.

The keypad is a "fixed alpha" keypad. It will do for _some_ of the basic programming, but unless you are very patient, and/or have a good memory, it's _very_ difficult to program the zones, outputs and other such things without the 2-line keypad.

Thanks for the quick reply! What I would like to do is program one of the bottom two buttons on the left side of the control pad for "stay" so I don't have to enter the code. The top one is preprogrammed for police and the second for fire. Is that possible with the panel I've got?
Thanks

As Ron said, it's a whole heck of lot easier with an alpha keypad. Enter programming, then enter *57. It will ask you to press the button you want to use. Next it will ask for the partition you want to use (usually "1"). Then it will ask the function you want for that button. Enter "04" (arm-stay). Then get back out of programming (*99).
