I just bought a house last week that already has SafeHouse by Radio Shack installed in it. I was told that it didn't work and hasn't for 3 years. While cleaning and wiping down the pad, I set off the alarm! Boy do my neighbors love me!! I couldn't get it turned off with anything I did with the keypad. I finally had to find the main box and unplug it to get it to go off. My question is where can I find a manual or information on how to use the system? This seems to be a good system as far as lots and lots of motion detectors inside and out and obviously it works well. Hope someone can help me out here. I basically need to know how to disalarm it and how to turn it back on. I think the model is Cat 49-450-B. When I go back to the house tomorrow I will check the model number for sure.
If something happens that we can not find a manual to figure it out what system can we use that would be compatible with it? I do not want to have to switch all the motion detectors and such out for a new system. Just the alarm panel if possible. Also I do not want a system at this time that is connected to a monitoring system with a monthly fee. I just want it to set off the siren should someone try to break in.

If the existing devices are 12volt, then they will work with pretty much anything on the market.

Radio Shack doesn't even have the manuals for this puppy in it's database. Your best bet for this one is to replace the control and keypad(s). These systems were pretty, ummm, basic.
