Numeric Paging to a Cell Phone
#1

I have read back in previous threads and noticed some users using www.numericpage.com to have their alarm system send them pages on their cell phones. I have been trying to sign up for this service for a week now, and the site keeps displaying a message stating that the sign-up page is down for a few hours for maintenance.
Does anyone still use this system? Are they still in business? Are there other services like this?
I'm using a Verizon Wireless phone.
Thanks!
Tom

I would try to contact them. I am still using their service, and have not had any issues with them. I guess that I should check that it is still working since I have not had a tripped alarm for a couple of months now.

I figured out how to get my 20PS to page my cell phone. Technically, it's not paging -- it's text messaging.
The problem is that if you have the alarm system call your phone directly and you answer, you get an earful of (useless) beeps.
To solve this, I have my alarm call the voice mail number. For me, that's the number my phone calls when I press and hold 1. Again, for me that's 935-9999.
Once you connect, the voice mail system prompts for the mailbox number (your 10 digit phone number), then transfers you, then offers to record a voice message or to page the person.
For this example, we'll pretend my cell phone number is 315-555-1234.
So, for field *160 I entered 9359999
For field *161 I entered
#13#13 -- 4 second pause to let the message system answer the phone
3155551234 -- my cell phone number
#13#13#13 -- 6 second pause to let the system transfer to my mailbox
5 -- tells the system that I'm about to leave a numeric message
That's it. You'll also need to define which users send paging, and/or set up latchkey schedules and such to notify you.

BTW, I just checked and the signup page at numericpage.com is still down.
