Radionics 6112 No Monitoring

I recently bought a house with a Radionics D6112 installed. It has a D636A command center. The phone line is connected through an 8-wire jack directly to the Main panel. (There were previously two phone lines in the house.) The previous owners had cancelled monitoring some time ago, and we have not yet subscribed.

The system attempts to "phone home" daily and seizes the phone line, disabling our phones. If I disconnect it from the phone line, it sounds a warning. I would like to disable the phone connection, or, at least, disable the communication failure warning. Right now I have the whole system disabled.

Any suggestions?

Frustrated New Homeowner.

Radionic panels of this vintage were programmed using a specal bar-code programmer and code book. The only other way to alter the program requires the use of their propriatory remote programmer and software. Unless there is a Radionic/Bosch dealer in your area that still services these systems, your only real choice is to replace the control and keypad(s) with a new system.

Sorry, there's not user accessable "back door".

Drat, Foiled Again...

Any possibility of silencing the warning?

Either entering the disarm code + [ENT] or [COMMAND] + 4 should shut the trouble piezo up, but it will simply go back into trouble again when it tries to dial out. These guys have a pretty good support page for these old models. At very least you can get an users manual for free from them.

Thank you. Is there a modern replacement?

Thanks, after waking up every hour on the hour to press command 4, I finally gave up and powered the system down. I had already been to NSS site, and others, downloaded the user's, installation, and programming guides and found nothing helpful. I was hoping that I was missing or misunderstanding something.

Perhaps I should start a new thread, but is there a modern system that I could install myself which would replace the D6112 using the same wiring and connections, allowing me to replace only the system panel and command center? Ideally, I would like to be able to program and monitor it using my home computer.

Wander through the prior threads. The topic of replacement systems comes up pretty often. basically, any 12vdc security system can use your existing devices. What has to be replaced is the control unit and all keypads. You want to get a system with as many zones as your existing one, at least, that way you don't have to rewire the physical zone wiring.

It's an old thread, but....

Yes, you can cut the leads for the sounder, and silence the system, but this doesn't remove the trouble, nor does this give you the ability to alter the system programming without the Radionic programming tools.

My general advice regarding old Radionic hardware stands: If you don't have a local dealer that you like, replace it.

Since you have a 636 keypad you will need an expander on any of the current panels.the 6112 has 8 zones and the 636 has up to 8 zones wired to it.
All switches and Motions are reusable
