Hi,
I switched to VOIP and rewired my phone line. I connected wires(has dial tone) out from VOIP device to security box IN wires first, the wires out from security box connect to rest of my house phones. Which I think the connection is ok. The security box is able to seize the line to dial out. I did the testing with alarm monitor center and they did receive my alarm signal. But last nigh I saw on my Ademco 4110DL pannel an error code "FC" - which means communication failure. Anybody knows what causing this? Is it only because of the unavailiability of internet access? Or even the internet is ok, chance of this failure is still exist? Does anybody know how often this type of security box communicate with the monitor center? Does the security box try to communicate with the center after having the "FC" error?

Depending on who set the monitoring up, panels like this can be set to do an auto-test either every 24 hours or every 7 days. You can force a communicator test signal by pressing your code +5 (test).
Depending on the format the panel is sending, it may have problems with VOIP telecom. The Contact ID format often has problems with this. If your net connection, and therefore the VOIP, was down for a span of time, then you can get this trouble also.
