Identify my system, then reset it.

First, how do I identify my system? I've look for serial and model numbers, and none of them resemble any of the systems I've seen in this forum. What I do know is that the keypad is a 6127 console, and the only number I could find on the control box board was SA4110. (I can also see it was assembled in Mexico.)

The next question is how do I reset the master Code without dealing with ADT. I've seen others with a similar problem but their solution didn't seem to work for me.

This is a preinstalled system in a house I bought, probably put in in the mid 90's. My goal is to be able to use the system without monitoring.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Josh

That's the ID. What you have is a version of the Ademco 4110 (possibly 4110xm). This is an older model that doesn't have a seperate installer code (Master Code and Installer code are the same).

You should be able to use the * + # power up method detailed in the FAQ for this forum, then key in #20, and the panel will read back the current code. You can then change it by keying *20 + [new code]. Exit programming with *99.

Often, for these panels, people will use the master code to program a secondary code for day to day use.

re-set master code

You can try the default code first, 4110

enter 4110 + Code button + 0
20 should be displayed, if not enter *20
Enter your new code
Enter *99 to exit

If this doesn't work the default code may have been changed
Read the 'Read this before posting' for this section for add'l info.

Disconnect of at least 1 of the battery terminals in the cntrl box
Power off the system (I turned off at the breaker box)
Wait about 30 seconds
Turn on the breaker
Within 50 seconds of turning on the power pres * # at the same time
20 should be displayed, if not enter *20
Enter your new master code
Enter *99 to exit

Good luck.
