Programing a remote keyfob for an Ademco Vista 20P
I have an Ademco Vista 20P panel, and I'm trying to program a 5804 4-button wireless key transmitter. I already have one such transmitter set up (came with the house) and am trying to add a second. I use the following sequence (from the installer guide):
Installer code + 8 + 0 + 0
*56
Zone number - 60 (it's a clear zone)
Zone Type - 20 (Arm-Stay)
Partition - 1
Report Code - 3C (no idea if this is right - can't figure this one out)
Input type - 4 (UR type)
I then enter the S/N and the loop number (4), it tests this and confirms the S/N. The zone summary reads:
Zn ZT P RC In:L
60 20 1 3C UR:4s (what does the "s" mean? It's not in the manual)
I then press *, choose not to enter alpha, and exit out.
At this point, pressing the button seems to only create a fault on the assigned zone (60). I then tried to follow the instructions in the user guide to assign an RF user number. I entered:
Master code + 8 + user no. + #4 + 60
I tried user numbers 03 and 04, but with no success. There was no confirming chime when I was done, and there was no change in the behavoir.
What am I doing wrong? Please help.
Thank you,
Juliean.

UR is the wrong type for a keyfob. You want BF, and if you are not going to use the built in templates, each button must be individually programmed (you would be programming 60, 61, 62, & 63 for a 4 button keyfob). To change it to the proper type, you will have to delete the device and start over.
If you only have the master code programmed and no other codes, the the user number that must be activated for the transmitter is 02.

What is a template, and how do you use it? I was anticipating programming all 4 buttons individually, as you described.
Can I have more than one transmitter on user 02? My other transmitter is already on that user... I did create another user (03 and 04), but no luck.
I may not be using the most current maual - I'm using this one:
http://www.panelguides.com/index.php...&filecatid=192
and it doesn't mention a 5804 keyfob, only some other similair ones. I used UR as the manual said to use that (or RF, but that's supervised) for the 5801, and this seemed similair (both are 4 button), but now that I looked again, the 5803 is a keyfob and that specifies BR, so I'll try that tomorrow.
