PC2550 to call cell phone?

I have a DCS PC2550 installed in my home. I would like for it to call our cell phones in the event of an alarm, is this possible? I have an install manual but when I enter the program codes, the LCD doesnt show what the book says it should. Any help? Thanks

If you have a LCD keypad on a PC2550, then you probably have a LCD5501 keypad. This will display system programming information differently than the LED keypad that the programming manual was written for. It will still work, but the data is displayed differently.

That said, the 2550 does not have a "pager" format, so you will not have a lot of luck because the phone has no means of generating the "kiss-off" tones that the panel must hear to prevent it for dialing repeatedly until it goes into "failure to communicate" trouble.

If its a 2550 the keypad is a LCD-600. You should be able to find the manual for it online. But RonFL is correct you will need an external dialer to call a cell phone.

Ah! You're right. I had forgotten about the LCD-600. I actually still have one in my backstock stash, they never sold well, but were the closest thing to a "universal" keypad the "classic" DSC panels supported.

The same explainations apply, the display of data looks different than the standard LED display.
