Replacing Westec 5000s?

Ok... I may have to replace my Westec 5000s and buy a new security system. My current system is hardwired with 1 keypad, 2 motion sensors, 1 external siren and 3 door/window sensors. We have cancelled our current monitoring service.

What I'm wondering is which replacement system will allow me to take advantage of as much of my current hardware, or at least take advantage of the existing hardwiring? I really want to do this stuff myself.

Replacing an existing alarm boils down to replacing the keypad(s), the control (motherboard), and often the power pack (some older models used 18 and 24v transformers, while the industry standard is now 16.5v).

Hardwired contacts and motion detectors are universal. As long as they were made for a 12vdc system power supply, there's no need to change them as long as they work.

Your cancelling monitoring was most likely the source of the trouble, as the system was no longer able to get a contact confirmation from the monitoring reciever.
