Dictaphone alarms

We have a dictagraph alarm system series 4000 that came with our house. Any idea where to get installation/operation manuals? Also, recently the AC/LB light will start blinking and then the Arm light will start blinking along with the AC/LB light. At that point the keypad will start a continuous beep. Any idea what causes this?

I'm guessing that at least part of it is low battery, the rest is a darned good guess. This sounds like a pretty old system, probably from the period where a lot of companies were jumping into the security hardware business. Many of them were the big tech names of the day, and a lot of them only marketed systems for a few years at most.

It's possible that the hardware was made by another company, and just re branded for Dictaphone.

In any case, the odds are pretty slim that this system will be viable for you (for one thing, a lot of these systems could only be reprogrammed by an external eeprom programmer, or by a propriatory plug in programming device). Your best bet is to strongly consider replacing the control and keypads with a more modern, user friendly system.
