arrowhead CT61

I recently purchased a home where an Arrowhead CT61 is installed. The previous owner did not have a clue as to the passcode was, as they never used it. I dl'd the manual for the Moose Z1100, and ran through their procedure, but nothing worked. Anyone know how to reset the code?

Thanks MJ

The CT-61 is a modified Z1100. Which reset procedure did you try?

at work

I am at work and I don't have the instructions in front of me, btu there was one towards the last that mentioned pushing # or * and 9, and you should hear 3 beeps, then you push something else, and you should hear some more beeps... I never hear beeps, just one long tone.
forgive me as I am at work and can't recall exactly. If you need to know exactly, I will reply later this evening when I get home. thanks MJ

Yes, there is a programming "switch" on the PC board that can kick the panel into program mode so you can bypass the installer code and change it without having to default the whole shooting match.

is it the blue wire switch?

there is a blue wire switch on the circuit board. SO if I connect that switch and go through the moose procedures, it should work. I have some electronic equipment at work that has the same switch that I connect to go into the program mode. I will try that.
Thanks.. MJ

Yes that's the one. Switch the power off with the power switch on the bottom left of the motherboard, hook the program switch. It will power up in user programming.

Enter 5 for program authorization
Enter 9 for configuration digit 9
Enter [new program code] five digits if you want fewer use trailing zeros. (to program 1234 enter 12340)
turn it off again
unhook the switch
turn it on. The new program code should work now.

Exclamation Z1100 programming

So I am working on a Z1100 panel for my work, and i have the Z1100e manual in which the programming switch you push and then enter the programming code, right? On the Z1100 I see the wire switch you're talking about, but how do I use that? just close the circuit where its broken? Also, I'm programming in a new dial out number to a dispatching service, and considering a different company installed the Z1100, I was wondering what I have to do to reset the programmer's password if it has been changed, however without resetting the current passwords. Any and all help is muc appreciated - my boss dropped this one on my lap and I've got nothin to help me out. Thanks in advance

Yes, as stated above, power down, hook the switch, and power back up. The panel will be in user programming mode, and you can change the programming/installer code as described.

One caveat with Z1100 panels. They don't do 4+2 format. They only handle 3+1 and 3+2 reporting formats.

Just give your manual a thorough read. The info's all in there; it's just oddly worded and organized (kinda like a DSC manual).

z1100 manual

Ok, the thing is, the manual I could find offline, teh user's manual, doesnt tell me how to program in the dial out number, accoutn number, etc... Is there a place where I can find a decent manual that dells me that, or can you walk me through it? If its the same as a z1100e, then I have that manual for it. Is it compatable?

new developments!

Ok, so here's the thing. I've powered down teh panel, set the switch, powered up, set the programmer's password to 12345 (Yes, I know that works because I can now set passwords for the four PACs). Now, the thing is, I cannot for the life of me get to the point where the control panel lights flash at me to inform me I'm in programming mode. I've tried it wiht the switch on, with the switch off... What am I doing wrong, and/or whats the correct process?

No, the Z1100, the Z1100 system II, and the Z1100e each used different programming locations, so their installation manuals are not interchangeable. (The user manual is substantially the same, though). So it does make a difference.

There are numerous online sources for this manual. Simply use your favorite search and use the phrase "installation manual moose Z1100". This panel has been out of production for over a decade, there are probably several sites that will have it for free. There are plenty that will charge a nominal download fee (bandwidth isn't free, you know).
