DSC 832 Siren making clicking noise
Hi all:
I have a DSC 832 system that I installed about 8 months ago. System has been working fine, but a couple of days ago the siren started making a clicking noise (about one click per second) -- making the system into something of a "Chinese water torture" machine.
Any ideas what is causing this, and what I might try to fix it?
Thanx,
Dave

It has more to do with the siren than the alarm panel. Sometimes the voltage that the panel uses to supervise the siren loop "bleeds" in the siren's driver. Putting a 5.6k ohm resistor across the siren leads will usually make this stop.
In a few cases, it means that the siren is failing. You might want to sound it a few times to make sure.
