Hi everyone,
I've been lurking here for some time, and reading posts, and it is great to find some place full of great info!
But now I have my own question, and hope someone can help. I have setup a DSC Power832 in my home, and it is working perfectly. Now I am looking at how to expand it's capabilities, and I am looking at a T-Link TL150 to give me network access to the security system. I am curious though just what I will be able to do with this upgrade. I know the online info says I will be able to activate and deactivate the system, see zone status, etc... But is that it? Can it send a message when an alarm condition exists? Can I download system programming for backup? And can I change system programming? I'm guessing no, but was hoping to hear from first hand experience before I purchase it.
Thank you,
Rob

It looks to be a useful product, and in line with what a lot of people have been asking for in recent months. It's essentially an advanced virtual keypad. It won't give you access into the programming like the DLS software does, but it will essentially allow you to act as your own central station. Reading the installation instructions, I didn't see any reference to email interface, but the instruction sheet is pretty scanty.
The more advanced models apparently do allow more access to the system programming by providing a communication path for the DLS software.

Thank you Mr.Ron,
That is pretty much what I was assuming, that it is a simplifed web interface that mimics the functions found on a keypad.
Do you have much experience with a network link for the Power832 that you would recommend for a home user that wants to be able to self monitor their home security system?

My company stopped dealing DSC on a regular basis about 5-6 years ago (for reasons that have more to do with their slightly higher suceptibility to surge damage; which is an issue in a lightning prone state).
I've not had a chance to try any of their newer optional components. I like the concept behind many of them, and may consider recommending their hardware again.
